What can you do?
All of the Ely Wildspace needs help, but there are lots of things you can do:
1.
Write
to ECDC councillors and local MPs telling them what Roswell means to you, supporting
the call for a full EIA and a comprehensive planning application for the Roswell
marina, and asking that in the meantime all necessary actions are taken to prevent
further damage to the site.
|
|
2. When a planning application is made, write to the
Planning Department
at ECDC to express your views. If you are a
member of LCPRE
we will let you know when this needs to be done.
|
|
3. Join LCPRE
(download application form here), so that we
can campaign on your behalf more efficiently and effectively, not only for Roswell,
but for all the remaining wild spaces around Ely. |
|
4. Write to your local papers – the
Ely Standard, the
Ely Weekly News,
the Newmarket Journal, or the
Cambridge Evening News. |
|
5. Talk to other people about the issue, and persuade them to get involved.
|
|
6. Visit Roswell, while it still has grebes and terns, open water and tranquility,
and see for yourself why it’s such a precious place.
